"I'm big into natural medicines, I'm one of those folks that believes nature provides what we need and that humans haven't been around long enough to really understand enough about body chemistry that we should be making medicines. It's only been very recently that western medicine has begun to recognize some stuff that the East and other countries have been saying for a few thousand years. Ashwagandha is attributed to India but apparently in grows in other areas and has been used in many countries for some time. I was most attracted to the claims of stress relief, improved sleep, and insulin regulation but in reading all I could find from reputable web sites it has other functions including anti inflammatory effects that I would find desirable as well. Some herbs affect different people differently it all depends upon your body chemistry. Most of the time when I add a new herb to my routine it takes a few days before effects can be felt but several reviewers seemed to be saying they felt immediate effects and I did too. From the first dosage ( 250-500mg per day 2 capsules according to bottle ), I noticed a more calm overall feeling and according to my watch that monitors such things, I actually slept a bit longer than usual as well. I have squashed disk in my lower back which often causes a loss of feeling in several fingers as it aggravates nerves in my back, this morning I felt less of that which is generally how I judge the anti-inflammation effects of something I'm taking. For me anyway, I'm believing the stuff I've read about this herb. There are no "known" serious interactions but as with most herbs they do not recommend it for pregnant or lactating mothers. Most of the material I read also suggested that it should not be taken continuously most of what I read says take it a few months then give it a rest. As always, when you add something new to your routine be vigilant of anything that changes suddenly as it could be something that was triggered by your new herbal addition. I like this particular product because they offer it in several sizes and it's generally a better price than other products I looked at. You can purchase this herb bulk which I generally like that idea because it means you're pretty much getting pure product that hasn't been processed very much (compared to getting it in a bottle already made into a pill of some sort). I notice this can also be purchased as a tincture. For me, I find tinctures generally faster acting than pills or powders. I think next time I buy this I'll probably go for the liquid product although the two products I saw seemed more expensive than this one was but it's hard to compare tinctures to pills because they are generally very concentrated and you take much less for the same effect. Right now I like this stuff and agree with what limited information is provided on the bottle any time you take a new herb you should take the time to google it and read everything you can find about it because you never know if you're that one in a hundred thousand person that can't use it for some reason. I don't take any prescriptions regularly and if you do you should at least attempt to check drug interactions if you can."
